What inspired you to enter the wedding industry?
My adventure started about 17 years ago after I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in psychology. I had my first son while going through college and was a single mom, so I knew that whatever job I had needed to be one I was passionate about. I asked all my friends and family what they thought I was good at and what got me excited. Each person had a similar answer: hosting, planning, and being creative. I thought about this and what this could look like for me as a career and I reached out to a wedding planner that I knew and asked if I could shadow her. At that moment, I fell in love with the wedding industry! So in 2003, I started EverAfter Events. It’s been a journey ever since! I started doing small, average size budget weddings and am now doing luxury weddings to my niche client. My company has been featured in many magazine publications and many online blogs. There's an incredible team behind EverAfter Events that make each wedding and event perfection.

Why did you start EverAfter Events?

EverAfter Events was started to bring our passion to life—creating and planning an experience for our clients and their guests that exceed their expectations.

If you could change one thing about the weddings and special events industry, what would it be?
One thing I’d change is the competitiveness between vendors. Being around people who encourage, support, and motivate each other is a positive and healthy environment. Many of the vendors we surround ourselves with are like minded in this, thankfully.

How does using Aisle Planner help you deliver the client experience you want to?
Using AP helps us look more professional and organized when working with our clients. We're able to stay on track by using the Checklist which also helps with communication.

What is your favorite Aisle Planner feature?
I love the design boards. Being able to create different ideas and the overall vision in a clean and beautiful way brings me delight.

If you weren't the Owner of EverAfter Events, what would you be doing instead, or what would your life be like?
If I wasn’t planning weddings, I’d probably be a therapist or self-help coach for personal growth. I love the deeper journey of life and helping people see and understand who they are and how to live their best life with richness and fulfillment.

What are three things you never show up without on event day?
My team! My team is the backbone behind what happens on a wedding day. I couldn’t do what I do without them. I also don’t leave home without an emergency kit. There’s always a bridesmaid or guest that needs something that we have in our kits. Lastly, I bring a few pairs of shoes. When doing 15 mile days, having a different pair of shoes to change into helps save my feet.

What’s your personal philosophy on becoming a great wedding and event planner?
Listen. Listen and try to understand your clients. I want the wedding day and experience to be exactly how they imagine so hearing them and creating the day to exceed their expectations is a must.

What’s your trademark in the client or event experience?
Customer service and promptness. When our clients need us or have a question, we're sure to be available to help guide and bring ease.

Is there anything you are particularly excited about working on this year?
I’m personally excited to lean into knowing, growing, and supporting other wedding professionals. With 17 years of experience, I’m looking forward to imparting my knowledge to other wedding vendors who may need some assistance and support.

Just for fun

Dogs or cats?
Dogs!

If you owned a restaurant, what food would it serve?
I would own a bakery full of home-made delicious baked goods!

What skill would you like to master?
Learning how to have a well-balanced life, if that even exists.

On my days off you can find me…
Playing with my three year old son or relaxing with my husband.
