Nafplio (Ναύπλιο in Greek) is a beautiful, elegant and romantic coast town in the region of Peloponnese in Greece, south west from Athens. It is a popular destination for tourists, but also for many Greeks who come there for a getaway weekend as it is easily reached from Athens (within two hours of driving). Even though it is located on the mainland, the town has the flair of an island and, once arrived, the holiday feeling comes up immediately.

Rent a car
Option 1 is to rent a car at the airport in Athens. It is approximately a two hours’ drive to Nafplio on the major highways.

Take the bus
Option 2 is to take the bus. First you take the X93 bus (6€) or the M3 metro (9€) from the airport to Athens Kifisou bus station. From airport to the central bus station of Athens takes about 90 minutes.
Then you take the bus to Nafplio. It is approximately a 2 hours’ journey.
One way ticket costs 13,10€.

Taxi or private car
Option 3 is a taxi from Athens airport to Nafplio. This should cost about €190 for four people. It is approximately 1,5-hour journey. The driver is waiting you at the arrivals with a sign.
For more than 4 people, mini vans are available.
